ABCs of Fall

Amusement Parks: for Fall break, we went to Orlando (as we do) and visited the brand-new Epic Universe theme park! It was amazing and very immersive. Of course, the boys did Halloween Horror Nights as well. A few weeks later, Tyson went to Dollywood during a band trip to Tennessee, bringing his count to 7 amusement parks in 4 different states this year!

Band: 2 – 3 practices a week, football games, exhibitions, concerts, and competitions – oh my! All that work paid off when they won grand champions at their final competition, even outscoring bands twice their size! We are lucky to have such a great music program in our school.

Company from Germany: we hosted a German exchange student, Josefa, for 2 weeks. She experienced lots of American fun like Homecoming, decorating for Halloween (apparently not as big over there), bowling, Wal-Mart, Hibachi, and many hamburgers. She was basically fluent in English, which will be helpful when Tyson goes to stay with her in June!

  1. What a fantastic use of the fall break and your visit with Josefa looks like it went well. 7 parks in 4 states is an impressive feat.

  2. Congratulations to Tyson on the marching band’s win. I can tell, even from this distance, that Tyson is definitely a Cook man. There’s a young man that will go far!
I’m sorry I can’t be there to carry on the tradition of uncles teasing their nephews about their hair. I used to cop a bit of teasing and abuse from some of my uncles about my long hair. One uncle (Delbert, Emogene’s husband) used to say, “He wants to be one of those dadgum Beatles”!
It’s nice to see all of you visiting some fun parks and having a great time.

    Have a great Christmas everyone!
Love from the Australian branch of the Cooks.
